Following up on our commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable development, we have completed a project to upgrade the heat nodes in our production facilities. The business case for this CAPEX project was to eliminate the inefficient high-parameter water heating grid and boost the use of waste process heat.
The upgrade
With the project, we have upgraded the heat nodes in three key buildings:
- the central heating system node of the steam/water grid
- the central heating system node of the steam/steam condensate/water grid, with priority given to the use of waste heat from the process condensate.
- the central heating/hot water system node of the steam/steam condensate/water grid, also with priority to waste heat recovery.
Benefits
With the advanced solutions installed, we achieve a number of benefits, including:
- Improved energy efficiency – reducing heat waste and increasing the efficiency of heat management.
- Primary energy savings – by using waste heat, we reduce the consumption of new energy sources.
- Greater safety and reliability of the plants – modern heat nodes also mean better process control and more stable operating parameters.
Caring for the environment and the future
The completion of the project is not only a step towards operational efficiency, but also an expression of our responsibility for the environment. Reducing energy consumption and limiting heat waste support our sustainable development policies in real terms.
