The 50th anniversary Dębno Marathon took place on Sunday, May 12. As usual, it ran along the marked streets of the city.
The entire competition started at 10:00. 2,606 participants started from the start. Fortunately, the weather in May was good and the competitors were sunny all day long.
– “Many people who started the race did not finish it, this usually happens when the route consists of two laps along the same paths. Many people give up due to exhaustion after running the first lap. The terrain is already known and we know what awaits the second time.” – commented our colleague Stanisław. “The fans of the race were fantastic, they provided incredible motivation.” – he adds.
2,186 competitors reached the finish line, including Stanisław Łuczak, who ran with number 1989. He finished the race with a time of 3 hours 08 minutes 10 seconds, which gave him an excellent 144th place in the open results.
-“I was hoping for a time of less than 3 hours, but unfortunately, fatigue made itself felt near the finish line.” – as he recalls.
We congratulate Stanisław on his great result and wish him constant motivation to achieve further successes in future sports events.
